Ministering 24/7 unto the Lord
This booklet is the result of applying a different approach in our Bible study class. Instead of following a set of courses, we train to study a subject of interest or importance by using Bible study tools – concordances; Greed and Hebrew Lexicons; commentaries; Bible dictionaries; manners and customs of the Bible; different Bible versions; etc. We rather have the recipe instead of the bread, the rod instead of the fish, to become self-taught students of the Word of God (2 Timothy 2:15).
For our first Bible study group project we focused on the subject of worship following up on a teaching delivered in one of our “Preparation for the Week” meetings. The Amplified Version of Mark 4:24 reads – “the measure of thought and study you give to the truth you hear will be the measure of virtue and knowledge that comes back to you”. The outcome of our group study was the understanding of what the often heard phrase “worship is a lifestyle” really means. We concluded that worship is a 24/7 ministry to the Lord.
The next step was subdividing the subject into eight lessons. Each husband and wife team had to focus on a particular aspect of worship. They then had to prepare a message for discussion on their topic. Next they were guided in putting their sermon/s onto paper. In putting the contents together, we felt it is imperative to cut out the “fat” and present the “meat” only to ensure a quick and easy read in an age of information overload. The result – this booklet aimed at making the reader rethink the true meaning and purpose of worship.
We are grateful to the Lord for empowering all our first time writers to rise up to the challangeof putting their thoughts onto paper.
We are confident of this, that He who began a good work in us will carry it on to competion until the day of Christ Jesus (Philippians 1:6).
